BOHOL: exploring Bohol with the POWER OF TWO:Bohol Bee farm
DAY 1.
2:30 pm arrived in Bohol Bee Farm in panglao and had a tour whole afternoon within the resort, the first plan was to rent a bike and go straight to hinagdanan cave , ostrich and animal place, but since it’s late in the afternoon and we don’t know the road access yet in Bohol we decided to just chill and explore the resort Dave and I want to have this trip really special and fun by doing it ourselves without having to get any package deals or set schedule for the tour, for us fun is exploring and knowing whats out there by our own, so we envisioned just to have a backpack, a map and a bike .One tour guide set us to rent a bike for the next day to be used for the following 4 days of stay for just 600php it supposed to be 400php but since we didn’t contact that main renting place the additional 200php is the profit of the resort ,

In my surprise it was a huge resort, they have 3 restaurant you can choose from , wherever you feel relax or comfy. We had this friendly tour guide who assisted us inside the farm and told us so many trivia , from the bees to the plants to the soil :) , The room we stayed at has a rustic feel on it, has bathtub and nice couch, the bed and linen is nice too, love the rustic feel of the room they will make up your room everyday and put new tissue papers too :). we went to this part of the resort where the locals are given jobs to work , they make abaka and weave baskets, they even make hats and sandals, they also sell souvenirs here, they have this dedicated souvenirs just from their resort. They have this nice water tank with coconut shells on it very unique. The tour guide was really accommodating and told us about this new place that is currently close due to construction,but since it’s almost done we are asked to check it out ( lucky day).
One of the thing Bohol bee farm is very proud of is the organic things they have and offer, they have this salad with edible flowers on it and this is the only place where we had an organic ice cream! the cones are made out of casava flour( sweet potato root crop) and they call it CABCAB and YES! it was really good, you can choose from lanka, pandan, malungay, spicy ginger , and more!!.And most of the food on the menu is what i can say very “ only in bohol” and I would definitely recommend this place if you have a bit of budget, because most of the food is kind of more than i expected, but it’s worthy for the taste and servings. You can also check Dumaluan beach and Alona beach which is 20 mins away from bee farm, They have lots of food place lodge and pension houses if you are on a tight budget price ranges at 600php per ac room to 1500php and you can even haggle the price depends on the season.

Organic Garden Salad: Fresh picked assorted romaine lettuce, radish, turnips, mustard greens and indigenous flowers with honeyed mustard salad dressing.
One of my favorite spot in the resort, there was a night when i spent time drinking wine and just listening to the waves looking on the stars...

Some things which I have learned from our tour guide's lecture: 1.In each beehive, there is only one queen bee (you can easily spot her as she is the largest among all the bees) 2.Male bees only have one purpose (to mate with the queen). All worker bees are female 3.Guard bees don't allow the worker bees to enter the premises if they don't bring nectar/pollen with them.
We saw several other farm activities as well. The tour guide took us to the raffia-making and basket weaving area where we met locals too.

The man sitting is the co-owner of the Bee farm Resort, he has this daily routine to chill beside the pool and have wine while reading, from 8pm till 11 pm ( on my observation)

The Menu
Since I love the ice cream cone made out of Casava, I saw a CABCAB from the menu, and it's made out of the same casava ( root crop flour) ,Tried it and it was really good specially when it comes with tomatoes with honey on it.
